Top Gear Live ( motor sport post)

It was the annual pilgrimage time. This time to Glasgow and the new Hydro centre. I was keen to see the show as it was a stadium programme rather than the NEC event. So we were treated to a longer show and no exhibition.

The Saturday show was lined up and it was nice to go to a venue that was disabled friendly,  no stairs or awkwardness.  In fact we had our own entrance to the venue.  On the down side getting to the merchandise stall was hell due to the sea of people, and when we got there the limited stock and lack of product's including programme was disappointing. . However this was the only grumble.

It was nice to have a clear view and find the seating more like those of years back where you were actually able to see the stars close up.  The fuel filled 90 minutes didn't disappoint either consisting of the highlights of the past 7 years. It was gull of the terrible trio and their chaotic reign of cocking about. Pausing occasionally for professional stunt work, future highlights and a highlights of the late Colin McCrea. All in all a loud mad show true to form. There were a few bits i would have loved to see included but if you had never seen the show before you would be none the wiser. I accept the venue wasn't suitable for either the FMX or drifting but the splat a rat would have been a nice addition. But like I said that's only my opinion based on 7 years of viewing the live shows in other venues.

The Sunday show was even slicker if that was possible.  It seemed to flow even smoother and have just that bit more humour.  As usual there was some ad libbing and the occasional slip but nothing that stalled the show.  It is a good way to see the boys natural chemistry and their experience in live performance. Although will some one please remind James which way the audience is!

All in all it was an excellent weekend of shows and as usual the weekend ended with the high of petrol fumes and burnt rubber. I can't wait till the new set of shows and if my lottery numbers come up any time soon I will be off to one of the other countries they are touring.Barbados sounds good to me
