Sample review Dr Organic

To kill my invalid boredom, I signed up for beauty selection, which will send me samples every few weeks. So I thought I would start trying them out and giving you all my run down of pros and con's.

The 1st to be tried and tested is the Dr Organic Rose Otto Skin Lotion. This is part of a bigger range and one I had not heard of so I was keen to try it. The sample was plentiful  and on reading the ingredients on the back it was all items I could pronounce and recognise. There wasn't a chemical compound in sight. Things like Shea butter and chamomile extract were all very promising.

So after a long warm bath I applied liberally as directed. The first thing I noticed was the overwhelming scent of rose. By over whelming, I mean almost nauseating, I am not over keen on rose scent except on the flowers themselves, but this was so concentrated it didn't just scent me it filled the entire room and leaves a lingering aroma where ever I walk. Then I found it didn't absorb as I would like instead it seemed set on buffering my skin and rubbing off.

It promises to moisturise, but in some patches it left my skin drier than before, that my be the use of clove oil. It also created a slight burning  / warming sensation that is a little harsh for my skin. A bit like the effects of tiger balm on the skin. Great if you want tiger balm, not if you want a skin lotion. There are plenty of soothing extracts in this cream including aloe vera, Irish moss and coco butter, but they seem to be out weighted by clove oil, liquorice extract and lime flower extract.

As you can tell by this write up I am more than disappointed with the sample. It had all the possibilities of having a new convert and instead I am still trying to dilute the aroma around me. I think for  those who love the rose scent and have less sensitive skin it would probably be more successful. The cost is around £7.19 and as it 100% natural that is quite reasonable on the market. It just not for me.
