Well that is one way to put it. After a great run around and standing on crutches because no one thought I might need seat, I got my xrays done and all my feet bones are apparently intact. So there is nothing they can do.
Well that last bit isn't quite right, they said there is a lot of swelling, one foot has a tinge of blue (their words not mine) and they suspect extensive ligament and muscle damage. However as I was sent to the hospital with suspected breaks they won't treat me until my GP fills in the forms for the MRI scan to confirm this. All because I went to my GP 1st, had I gone to A & E 1st they would have treated it there and then. If ever I could have screamed now would have been a good day. This is the system gone mad.
So I did what the hospital suggested and phoned GP, but he can't do anything till he gets the email of the xrays, before he can advise further. In the mean time I had very painful swollen feet. Doctors advice was rest, and elevate and he will ring asap so I am not kept in further pain. At least one person noticed that bit. Although I am now questioning the observation skills of our hospitals as I was offered a pair of crutches at the cost of £12 deposit, er yea right and what exactly were those things attached to my arms holding me up. Or am I meant to have one set for the back condition and another for the busted feet? If so am I missing a set of arms or something?
The whole day has just been a waste of time, I am in as much pain as I was, and now I am waiting for stage two, In the meantime I am rapidly losing faith in our medical workers, if they are so tired that they don't notice sticks they saw patients walking in on, and even move them out the way, what else are they missing.
In the mean time it is a case of pass the ice pack and can some one pass me a brandy please.
